The TerrorEyz is the bait D.O.A. is best known for among anglers who fish structure after dark. A weighted head, a soft body and a paddle tail that flutters on the drop — it falls like a dying baitfish, and that fall is what gets eaten.
Choosing and fishing the TerrorEyz
Three sizes
- Tiny TerrorEyz — 2". Dock lights, glass minnows, pressured fish, and almost every freshwater application in the line.
- TerrorEyz — the standard size and the one to start with. Snook, seatrout, redfish, juvenile tarpon.
- Big One TerrorEyz — 4". Bridge tarpon, big snook at night, striped bass. When you want the biggest profile in the box.
How to fish it
Do not swim it back. Cast up-current, let it sink on a controlled slack line, and watch or feel for the tick as it falls. Most strikes happen on the drop, and if you are cranking you will never know they were there. Around a light line or a bridge shadow, let the current carry it through the seam and only turn the handle enough to stay in contact.
Refills
TerrorEyz Bodies are sold separately because the bodies are what a fish destroys — the heads keep going. Pair them with the matching TerrorEyz jig heads.
Color
Nite Glow after dark and in stained water; Rootbeer/Gold Glitter and Near Clear in clear daytime water; Pearl/Red Head when fish are on white bait. Under a dock light, a darker body often out-fishes a bright one because the fish is seeing a silhouette against the glow.
